About the Role:
As Vice President of Marketing, reporting to the COO, you will lead a team of marketing professionals and oversee agency relationships to drive advertising effectiveness, media spend optimization, and customer engagement. Your primary focus will be retaining existing customers through consistent upgrade cycles while strategically acquiring new customers to grow market share.
This role provides autonomy in shaping media strategy, balancing digital efforts with new opportunities across connected TV, dynamic mobile, and customer databases. You will also be responsible for co-op advertising partnerships, working cross-functionally with store operations and merchandising to ensure marketing strategies drive per-purchase revenue growth.
Location: On-site Monday-Wednesday in Raleigh, NC (will provide relocation)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a cross-functional team of 4-6 marketing professionals including analysts, a program manager, and a creative team, ensuring strategic alignment, high performance and collaborative execution across all initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies focused on customer retention and upgrades, while growing market share through new customer acquisition.
- Utilize media mix models and other attribution techniques to enhance advertising performance and allocate spend effectively across digital and traditional channels.
- Build and leverage more sophisticated customer databases to personalize marketing efforts, increase retention, and improve targeting.
- Develop and manage email and SMS campaigns and analytics to drive customer engagement, retention, and optimize or shorten upgrade cycles.
- Evaluate, select, and implement a comprehensive CRM platform to unify and streamline all customer touchpoints including SMS, email, website interactions, digital engagement, and outbound telemarketing to ensure a seamless and consistent customer experience.
- Oversee and optimize media spend to drive store traffic, conversions, and increase revenue per sale.
- Maximize co-op advertising opportunities with major electronics and service providers, ensuring mutually beneficial strategic partnerships.
- Work closely with store operations and merchandising teams to align marketing efforts with retail execution and optimize revenue per purchase.
- Manage marketing analytics to ensure precise targeting, campaign optimization, and performance tracking.
- Lead brand positioning and messaging initiatives to differentiate the company in a competitive retail landscape.
- Conduct customer insights and market research to analyze consumer behavior, preferences, and competitor strategies.
- Forge strategic partnerships with service providers, electronics brands, and media outlets to expand marketing opportunities.
- Oversee performance attribution and reporting to accurately measure marketing impact through attribution models and customer journey mapping.
- Drive digital transformation through AI-driven personalization, predictive analytics, and dynamic creative optimization.
- Develop loyalty and retention programs, increasing customer lifetime value through exclusive offers and engagement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:
- Proven leadership in retail marketing, ideally in electronics, cellular, or other consumer focused multi-location sector.

- Strong background in SMS/Email, A/B testing and Marketing Automation.
