This is an in-person position in either Santa Fe, NM or Chapel Hill, NC.

The Company

Flow Science is a software company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico USA, which develops and distributes the CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulation software suite, FLOW-3D. Founded in 1980 by one of the principals who pioneered the “Volume-of-Fluid” (or VOF) method while working at Los Alamos National Labs, Dr. C.W. (Tony) Hirt, FLOW-3D provides users the ability to model and visualize complex fluid flow problems, servicing users from commercial, academic and government domains all over the globe. FLOW-3D is used in a variety of application areas; everything from water/environmental, to metal casting, aerospace, and additive manufacturing industries. In the last few years, Flow Science has expanded its product line, creating application specific variants of FLOW-3D, aimed at providing each application area a more streamlined, tailored workflow for simulating problems specific to their industry.


The Role

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Full Stack Developer with deep experience in WordPress and system integration. This role will focus on developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites as well as modernizing legacy web systems, integrating Microsoft Access databases, and connecting web platforms to Salesforce. The ideal candidate is comfortable working across the full tech stack and can bridge modern web development with legacy system needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Website Development & Customization: Build and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor and custom themes/plugins. Customize layouts, add functionality, and optimize site performance.
  • Legacy Website & Database Migration: Lead the migration of outdated websites and Microsoft Access databases into modern, web-based platforms.
  • Salesforce Integration & Administration: Develop and maintain integrations between WordPress and Salesforce using APIs, form connectors, or custom middleware. Serve as an administrator for the company’s Salesforce platform, implementing data structures, automation flows and data cleanliness protocols to serve business needs.
  • System Integration & API Work: Connect websites to internal and third-party systems via RESTful APIs and custom scripts.
  • Feature Development & Enhancement: Implement new web features, tools, and UI components that support evolving business needs.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of all web properties.
  • Documentation & Collaboration: Document system architecture and processes. Collaborate with internal teams across departments to gather requirements and implement solutions.


Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of hands-on WordPress development, Elementor experience a plus
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and MySQL
  • Experience with legacy Microsoft Access databases and data migration
  • Proven ability to integrate Salesforce with websites and forms
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and data handling between platforms
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and version control
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WPML, or similar WordPress tools
  • Familiarity with Salesforce administration (user management, permission sets, etc.) and automation tools (Flows, Web-to-Lead, Apex code etc.)
  • Experience with cPanel, Linux servers, and cloud hosting environments
  • Understanding of web security best practices and performance optimization
  • Experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Google Search Console, Lighthouse, GTmetrix, New Relic, or similar)
  • Experience managing multi-site or enterprise-level WordPress deployments
