Remote 3 months ago
Overview

Nortal brings together people who want to change the world little by little. Now we are looking for a Product owner with whom we can go faster, higher, and further than before.

As a multinational strategic change and technology company, our origin and HQ are still in Estonia. We bring together world-class strategic consulting, software engineering, data, and design practices to create a meaningful impact for our customers. Having been digitalizing and transforming the public sector, healthcare, and business organizations for decades, we have just crossed the landmark of 2000+ employees globally. Nevertheless, we are just getting started!

At Nortal, Product Owners are specialists in their own areas, taking responsibility for a wide range of solutions that help us every step of the way, whether end users be while paying taxes, making bank transfers, visiting the doctor, or simply answering a phone call. Product owners understand business, technology as well as people, and you would, through your competence and energy, be an example for us. In return, we will help you to achieve your goals through continuous professional development and regular career progression sessions.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

  • Lead discovery and scoping — talk with business stakeholders, users, map today’s processes and requirements, define success goals, and turn your insights into a vision, a solution concept and an implementation plan.
  • Design the solution — design the solution that meet client expectations and technical requirements while respecting budget, timeline and other constraints.
  • Collaborate with tech & design teams – check feasibility early, surface trade‑offs, and refine plans as new information emerges.
  • Create artefacts — produce As‑Is / To‑Be analyses, roadmaps, process and requirement docs, use cases, prototypes, detailed specs, UML & data‑flow diagrams, and keep them up to date.
  • Own the progress – prioritise and track the work, maintain the project plan, and give clear progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Support delivery – answer questions, approve completed work, handle scope changes, and measure results against the agreed goals.
  • Contribute to pre‑sales & learning – spot new opportunities, estimate effort for proposals, and share lessons to grow Nortal’s analysis capability.

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • You have strong empathy for customers, and can identify their current and future needs
  • Background in business or system analysis (UML experience is a benefit)
  • Project management skills: experience in goal prioritization, time management, setting, and managing the scope
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, a love of teamwork
  • Estonian and English language, both in speaking and writing
  • University degree is considered as a benefit

You will be a wonderful team member if you characterize yourself as:

  • A person with whom it is easy to cooperate, with effective communication skills
  • Getting-things-done attitude and committing to results
  • Analytical thinking and ability to see bigger picture while focusing even grass-level details
  • Someone who enjoys working together with various stakeholders
  • You are comfortable with lots of ambiguity and shifting priorities

We Offer You

  • Engaging, innovative, and challenging work, having a unique impact on the entire society
  • Great career opportunities with constant improvement, high-quality training to develop skills and gain new experiences
  • Option to switch your project or domain time to time to diversify your knowledge
  • Opportunity to contribute to decision-making – people in charge are in the next room and the doors are always open
  • People-oriented atmosphere. We strive to create an environment where people can feel comfortable
  • Lunches with the team, participation in Nortal’s legendary events, team-building and room for spontaneous ideas and joint activities
