Danucore is on the hunt for an innovation focused, hands-on CTO to lead on the design, development and deployment of our AI compute infrastructure.
This is a demanding yet unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the future of AI. We are developing a new infrastructure to facilitate the future of AI in a greener and kinder manner – it requires experience, intelligence and creativity.
The role is based on the Isle of Man and a relocation and start-up equity package is available.

The role and what you’ll do:
This is a key leadership role, where you will lead technical strategy, architecture, product development, and engineering execution. You will build and scale a world-class engineering team and drive world beating innovation in AI infrastructure.
What We're Looking For 🔍
Essential:
High-Performance Computing (HPC) & AI Mastery – You've worked with supercomputers, advanced AI models, or large-scale distributed systems and understand the technical and infrastructural challenges involved. You know what it takes to build high-efficiency, high-power computing platforms.
Deep Technical Knowledge – Strong background in hardware and software architectures for HPC and AI, including containerisation, parallel computing, and efficient cooling solutions. You've built (or led the building of) complex, scalable tech stacks.
Commercial & Business Savvy – You understand the business of technology and can work closely with leadership teams to align tech strategy with market needs.
Team Leadership & Culture Building – A track record of hiring and growing high-performing R&D and engineering teams, fostering a culture of curiosity, innovation, and technical excellence.
Preferred:
Startup or Scaleup Leadership Experience – You’ve led and built tech teams in a fast-moving startup or high-growth environment, and you know how to balance innovation with execution. Bonus points if you’ve taken a product from concept to market.
Energy & Sustainability Know-How – Experience in green computing, renewable energy integration, and heat reuse technologies. Whether it's repurposing waste heat or optimising for low-energy AI processing, you're excited about making HPC more sustainable.
Visionary Thinking & Problem Solving – You’re able to see where the industry is going and stay ahead of the curve, with a knack for solving complex technical challenges in creative ways.
