🔐 Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Azure-Focused Cloud Security & DevSecOps (Full-Time, Remote)
Launchpad is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer with deep technical expertise in cloud security, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. In this strategic and hands-on role, you’ll lead the implementation of cutting-edge security practices, tools, and policies to protect sensitive data, applications, and infrastructure across cloud environments.
You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, compliance, and IT teams to anticipate threats, drive mitigation efforts, and build secure, scalable systems from the ground up.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead cybersecurity efforts in partnership with Cloud Engineering, Compliance, and IT stakeholders
- Identify and implement best-in-class security controls across Azure and hybrid cloud environments
- Deploy, monitor, and continuously optimize tools like Defender for Cloud, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, and Tenable
- Drive execution of Recovery & Containment Strategies, especially within the Azure Gov Cloud context
- Conduct penetration testing (grey-box), vulnerability assessments, and real-time threat monitoring
- Analyze vulnerabilities and drive remediation efforts across teams
- Design and enforce IAM, WAF rules, and Defender policies to secure cloud applications and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with frameworks like NIST CSF and NIST 800-53, providing audit documentation and evidence
- Champion secure development pipelines and DevSecOps practices using Terraform, GitHub, Jenkins, and Docker
- Create detailed security documentation and contribute to the organization’s long-term resilience strategy
✅ What You Need to Succeed
Must-haves
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Cybersecurity Engineering
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure, including Azure Gov Cloud environments
- Experience with security tools such as:
- GitHub Advanced Security, SonarQube, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Tenable, Okta, Splunk
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or C++
- Proficiency with Linux and Windows OS environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker
- Solid grasp of cloud and network security fundamentals, with experience across the full threat lifecycle
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- One or more certifications required: OSCP, CISSP, Security+, CEH
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with NIST CSF or NIST 800-53 frameworks
- Hands-on with tools like Cloudflare, Jira, Confluence, Kali Linux, Metasploit, Endpoint Central MDM, or F5
- Experience with IAM, SSO, OAuth, and SAML integrations
- Background in DevSecOps and security governance in hybrid cloud environments
