This role is based in Queensland and is offering an attractive relocation package and a generous salary.


The goal is to find a permanent person but the client is open to considering a consultant to work on the duties below.


As the Technology Services Manager, you would provide technical leadership and expertise, analysis, project management and stakeholder engagement in the support and maintenance of building and medical systems and applications, and resources used in the delivery of technology services within a key healthcare client.

Some Key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaise with specialised vendors supporting hospital specific technology and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software, and network failures in a live environment
  • Maintain regular liaison with clients to achieve a positive working relationship
  • Manage and coordinate timely responses to all formal correspondence relating to matters raised by the client
  • Engage with service providers and vendors to resolve issues
  • Support the Performance & Reporting function of the contract

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information technology or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in technology services management or similar role liaising with vendors and service providers.
  • Knowledge of ICT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and storage
  • Experience implementing ISO27001 would be desirable
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with stakeholders

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Project Management (PM): Lead and work in conjunction with the business to deliver the ICT strategic roadmap of projects and improvements across the Operational Technology (OT) and ICT space.
  • Cyber Security: Develop, conduct, and maintain cyber security profiles and services for the business to protect all ICT assets.
  • Planning: Develop and refine the strategic ICT roadmap and all project plans, including Process identifiers, project plans and budgets.
  • Teamwork: Work with internal stakeholders, the ICT support team, and external suppliers to provide ICT services across the OT and IT platforms.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to and assist in continuous improvement of the ICT functions in the business, working with the IT manager to deliver improvements to the ICT team's performance.
  • Leadership: Support and promote best practices and the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and behaviours to create a highly motivational, safe and respectful work environment.
  • Health, Safety, Environment & Quality: Drive and ensure compliance within the legislative WHS framework to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and visitors, prevent harm, and provide a safe and healthy work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Technology
  • Certified in Prince2 or similar project management framework
  • Microsoft MCSA, MCSD, MCSE, or role-based extensions in data management, network management, cyber security, related discipline, or specific application areas such as Dynamics, Power suite, etc.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of ITIL or other service delivery framework
  • Understanding of systems architecture TOGAF, Zachman, NIST etc.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient written communication skills and experience with policy development and internal/external report writing
  • Sound knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile and PMBOK
  • Ability to manage project budgeting and cost control
  • Understanding of data analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau

Experience:

  • 15 years of ICT project management experience in a Microsoft-centric IT environment
  • 5 years of project management lead experience delivering enterprise-wide solutions
  • 5 years working in OT applications and integration to IT systems

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and implement an IT strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and aged care operational needs.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and resident care.
  • Systems & Infrastructure Management:
  • Oversee the management, maintenance, and upgrade of all hardware, software, networks, and telecommunications systems across multiple sites.
  • Ensure robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and regularly tested.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive resident and operational data.
  • Ensure all IT systems comply with relevant aged care, healthcare, and data privacy regulations.
  • Develop protocols for data protection, user access management, and incident response.
  • Team Leadership & Support:
  • Manage and mentor IT staff, providing training and development opportunities to build technical expertise and a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Coordinate with other departments to provide timely IT support and training for end-users, including clinical and administrative teams.
  • Vendor & Budget Management:
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead IT projects from concept through implementation, ensuring projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technology needs and provide innovative solutions that improve service delivery.
  • Quality Improvement & Innovation:
  • Stay informed on industry trends, particularly those impacting the aged care sector, and integrate best practices into the organization’s IT strategies.
  • Work with executive leadership on digital transformation initiatives and continuous improvement of IT services.


Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT management, with a strong preference for candidates with healthcare or aged care industry experience.
  • Proven track record in managing IT systems, cybersecurity, and compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, network administration, and systems integration.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and other healthcare-specific software is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
