Data Analyst 16: Salaries typically range from $72,840 to $97,121 annually, based on qualifications and experiences
Location: - Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week.
- This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview
At EDC, our focus extends beyond data to people. The HR Insights & Governance team bridges HR Operations and Strategy under OneHR, shaping our organization's future. We seek an HR Data Insights Analyst to collaborate with stakeholders across People and Culture, enhancing program efficiencies and effectiveness.
The HR Insights & Governance team: supports HR strategies like Workforce Planning, Learning and Development, Talent Acquisition, Employee Wellness, Performance Management, Succession Planning and Culture, as well as Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility; governs people-centric data, programs and policies; provides consultative support to HR teams and HR insights for business stakeholders. The Analyst, HR Data Insights role at Export Development Canada (EDC) is perfect for a detail-oriented individual who excels at connecting the dots and uncovering insights and trends that others may overlook. As part of the HR Insights & Governance team, you will leverage data to drive HR strategies and improve organizational outcomes.
What you will be doing: - Analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable insights that support business decisions and improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, maintaining clear documentation of processes and updates to support transparency and informed decision-making.
- Develop innovative solutions to address client challenges, using creative problem-solving to drive effective results and continuous improvement.
- Lead reporting and insights initiatives related to resource management, talent management, and talent acquisition, supporting Strategic Workforce Planning.
- Collect and analyze data for external surveys, benchmarking results against industry standards to inform strategy.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and relevance, and provide coaching on best practices and advanced features.
- Manage and respond to ad hoc data and reporting requests, delivering timely and insightful analysis tailored to specific needs.
What we are looking for: - Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HR data analysis, or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing, developing, and publishing dashboards using Microsoft Power Bi for data visualization and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to support strategic decision-making
- Proven track record of creating clear, insightful reports and data visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Expertise in statistical methods and their application in HR analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of Data Governance, focusing on quality, stewardship, and privacy compliance.
- Awareness of current HR trends, industry benchmarks, and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical audiences.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience working in a Crown corporation environment.
- A Master's degree in HR, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHR, or data analytics certifications.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Both French and English.
