Network Engineer - Fully Remote UK & Ireland - Payments

Search 5.0 is representing a payments business hiring a Network Engineer to help shape and support its evolving hybrid infrastructure, which includes AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. This hands-on role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining resilient, secure, and observable network systems while collaborating closely with TechOps, DevOps, and InfoSec teams. You’ll be responsible for both strategic initiatives and operational support, playing a key role in ensuring uptime, performance, and security across the network landscape.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and implement network solutions that align with business goals.
• Support and manage infrastructure components including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud networking tools.
• Lead lifecycle management, capacity planning, and troubleshooting for high-priority incidents.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams on infrastructure initiatives.
• Document procedures, coordinate upgrades, and champion change management best practices.

Key Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in enterprise network support and working with Palo Alto solutions.
• Expertise in routing/switching technologies (Layer 2–7), VPNs, VLANs, BGP, DHCP, DNS, and QoS.
• Familiarity with scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) and network monitoring tools.
• Proven experience with disaster recovery planning and certificate management.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
