Job Summery


The position of Global Digital Marketing Director has been newly established in our Copenhagen HQ. The role is part of our Marketing department, and will work across all three marketing functions - brand, paid / CRM & product. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for establishing and executing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, engagement, and sales across all digital channels.


It is a unique opportunity to grow a digital marketing function, shape the company's online presence, and contribute directly to its continued rapid growth. The Digital Marketing Director will set a digital strategy to consistently improve ROAS and implement a culture of continuous improvement through experimentation.


The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, capable of developing and implementing effective digital campaigns while building a future team. The role is global and will have managerial responsibilities. The Global Digital Marketing Director will report to our CMO and collaborate closely with local market operations.


The position is full-time at the Joe & the Juice HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark. Travel can be expected as needed to facilitate the execution of projects in the local markets, but is not expected to exceed 60 days a year.


Key Responsibilities


Strategy: Develop & execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to deliver on OKRs using digital platforms such as our Engagement platform, Website, App & Paid marketing platforms:


  • Audit the current digital landscape, including competitor analysis and identification of opportunities.
  • Define clear and measurable digital marketing goals aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Develop a multi-channel digital marketing strategy encompassing website optimization (SEO/SEM), social media marketing (organic/paid), email marketing, online advertising (paid search/display), mobile, and influencer marketing.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track progress and measure ROI of digital initiatives. Implement tracking and analytics tools to monitor campaign performance and identify areas for improvement.


Data-driven Marketing: Create and manage digital campaigns targeting customer acquisition & retention using paid media strategies. Ensure that performance and ROAS & ROI are transparent & conduct split testing to optimize conversion rates:

  • Lead the optimization of digital channels for user experience, SEO & ASO performance, and online ordering/engagement.
  • Utilize data analytics to understand customer behavior and personalize marketing efforts.
  • Manage social media presence across relevant platforms, creating engaging content and fostering community.
  • Develop and execute targeted digital advertising campaigns to attract new customers and drive online and in-store traffic.
  • Implement email marketing programs to nurture leads, promote offers, and build customer loyalty.
  • Identify and manage relationships with external agencies and vendors (digital agencies, advertising platforms, technology providers). Negotiate contracts and ensure effective collaboration
  • Explore and implement strategies for online ordering, delivery partnerships, and digital loyalty programs.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all digital touchpoints.


App & Loyalty Growth: Oversee app marketing efforts to increase conversions to paying customers and increase LTV of digital customers. Work closely with UI / UX, ASO & SEO to improve app-focused experiences managing landing pages, promotions & content pages, e.g., store listings, product listings etc:


Leadership: Establish a Data driven marketing culture and build / lead a high-performing marketing capability:


  • Define the future structure and resource needs of the digital marketing function and foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.


Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with Operations, Marketing, IT, & Product teams to align digital efforts with company-wide goals:


  • Oversee and manage paid & CRM campaigns to back the store operations, partnerships, product launches & store openings performed in the organization. Work with creative teams to create high-performing & impactful campaigns.
  • Develop reporting dashboards to communicate key metrics and insights to stakeholders.
  • Research, evaluate and champion new digital marketing technologies and trends relevant to the industry.


Budget & Performance Management: Manage the digital marketing budget & ensure that the budget is allocated to drive ROI & long-term value. Set clear KPIs for team members and ensure accountability is enforced & reported to the organization on a monthly basis. Utilize data to inform strategic decisions and optimize marketing spend.


Key Qualifications


  • Experience: Bachelor's/Master’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in digital marketing roles with a proven track record of developing and executing successful digital marketing strategies. Experience within QSR or retail is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key digital marketing channels, including SEO/SEM, social media marketing (organic and paid), email marketing, online advertising, content marketing, and analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making and measure ROI.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong experience with engagement platforms, customer data platforms, performance marketing platforms, and web analytics tools is essential. Experience running complex multichannel engagement journeys to engineer customer LTV
  • Soft skills: Strong communication, storytelling, interpersonal, and presentation skills with experience presenting digital marketing performance to financial and operational, and non-technical leaders. Ability to work strategically and hands-on, executing campaigns while maintaining a high-level perspective. A learner's mindset to enforce continuous improvements using tests and learning.


Preferred Skills


  • Experience in the restaurant or food service industry, particularly within a QSR model and/or experience with online ordering platforms, delivery services, and digital loyalty programs.
  • Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization
  • Familiarity with local SEO strategies and driving foot traffic to physical locations.
  • Experience with influencer marketing and building relationships with online content creators.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices.
