Overview:

A leading trading firm is hiring a Russian-speaking Data Engineer to join their high-performance team in Spain. Based in or open to relocating to Málaga, you'll play a key role in building and optimising data pipelines to support trading operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build scalable data pipelines with Python and Apache Airflow
• Develop data models and transformations using dbt
• Optimize complex SQL queries and performance tune databases
• Work with MPP databases like Redshift, Greenplum, or Vertica
• Operate in a Linux-based environment and contribute to architecture decisions
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define technical requirements
• Support 24/7 trading operations with efficient data solutions

Requirements:

• 4-5+ years as a Data Engineer
• Fluent Russian speaker
• Strong Python (Airflow) and SQL skills
• Experience with dbt and data pipeline best practices
• Confident Linux user with solid decision-making and documentation abilities

Desirable:

• Background in finance or trading, or a strong interest in the domain.
• Familiarity with AWS infrastructure (Athena, Parquet, Lakehouse architecture, etc.).
• Experience with Postgres, ClickHouse, and Apache NiFi.
• Knowledge of containerization and building Docker-based solutions.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
