Backend Engineer (Remote)

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our AI platforms and applications. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with our CTO and contribute greatly in a smaller team structure. We are specifically looking for someone with at least 2 years of Django experience.

This will be a fully remote role. We are open to considering candidates within a 2.5 hour range to Singapore’s timezone.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, build, and deploy scalable systems to power our AI platforms and web/mobile applications.
• Apply solid data‑structure and algorithm principles to keep our database queries and APIs fast, even as we scale.
• Collaborate alongside our AI, Product, and Engineering teams to develop our technical roadmap.
• Conduct code reviews and optimize existing systems for improved stability and performance.
• Partner with our Infrastructure team to roll out and manage cloud resources on AWS (and other providers as needed).

Our Ideal Requirements

• At least two years of professional working experience with Python, and specifically Django.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Some working exposure with AWS or any other primary cloud provider.
• Experience with other ORM/frameworks like Flask or FastAPI.
• Comfortable working in a lean startup environment, especially in a remote capacity.
