Lean Manufacturing Engineer in GREATER MILWAUKEE

Job Summary: This Manufacturing Engineer role has a strong emphasis on Lean and NPI. This person will be responsible for leading the development, integration, and validation of manufacturing processes and equipment. This role also manages production efficiency and workflow, identifies cost-reduction and optimization opportunities, and trains staff on new or existing processes and equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching methods.
  • Lead and supervise the handover of products to production.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction and optimization opportunities while maintaining quality objectives.
  • Create and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Design, develop, validate, and qualify production systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep equipment operational.
  • Train and guide staff in new and existing processes, procedures, and equipment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred) and 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D and 2D CAD systems and design (e.g., Creo, AutoCAD).
  • Experience interfacing with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Hands-on experience building small prototypes.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
  • Knowledge and experience with advanced product quality planning (APQP), production part approval process (PPAP), and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Knowledge and experience with Kaizen, Six-Sigma, and Root-Cause Analysis.
