We are a new, small Online Casino Games Studio, Lucksome, that launched in September 2020, based in Malta. We are industry veterans of the Casino business with a collective knowledge of over 35 years. We operate internationally including UK, Scandinavia and Italy and have aggressive international expansion plans. We supply the biggest operators in the world including Sky Vegas, Bet365 and Flutter. Lucksome is a young brand aiming to provide different, diverse and innovative games to the market.

We are looking for a Senior Front End Game Developer to bring our innovative and beautifully designed casino games to life in line with our quality values, and regulation. This is a unique role and therefore requirements a unique individual to fill it. We are looking for someone who has had a lot of experience making slot games for online casino, someone who prides themselves in being fast and efficient and the quality they deliver.

Why is it unique?

Because it requires an individual to have a solid knowledge of both technical implementation of game logic in an HTML/JS based games development pipeline, knowledge of front framework technologies and browser-based renderers. This role requires the successful candidate to be able to implement complex game logic – working closely with our Games Designers and Game Artists, as well as utilising and enhancing our Framework in architecturally sound ways to improve our ability to produce better game experiences.

We purposefully don’t make a lot of games per year; we focus on quality and the targeted brief for each game. Therefore, you will be involved in exciting and varied projects and will need to be a versatile developer, confident in solving varied problems in multiple framework environments.

What you will be doing?

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Development of HTML5 applications for deployment via online gaming systems
• Work alongside in-house software engineers, graphic artists, design, audio and QA teams to develop new games
• Developing and maintaining shared library code used by other developers
• Aiding other developers and QA with identifying and fixing bugs
• Writing code that is compatible with existing systems
• Developing tools and maintaining internal tools

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

• Investigating and recommending new technologies to other developers
• Helping establish coding standards and best practices
• Automating test and release processes

Skills we are looking for:

• Strong knowledge of Typescript/ES6+, React, Webpack & Node
• Experience in version control using git
• Knowledge of automated testing/CI (especially gitlab CI)

The following would also be a benefit:

• Broad knowledge of other programming languages/paradigms
• Version control using SVN
• Knowledge of Pixi.js

Experience and Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience in building Online Casino Games
• Desirable: Higher education degree in Computer science
