Private Equity Internship (Undergraduate)
ETA Fund | Remote | 15+ hrs/week | Performance-based compensation
Looking for your first step into private equity?
We’re building a small, sharp team of undergrad interns to help us acquire UK services businesses.
Successr is a search fund backed by leading institutional investors. We’re on a mission to buy and grow exceptional, profitable British services companies. With capital in the bank and investor support behind us, we’re in full search mode—and we want ambitious undergrads to join us for the journey.
This is not a “watch and learn” internship. You’ll be researching industries, finding real acquisition targets, reaching out to business owners, and helping us decide who we should buy. Expect fast learning, real impact, and plenty of exposure to the investor lens.
What You’ll Actually Do
You’ll work directly with the fund principal (ex-M&A, Oxford, INSEAD) and MBA associates to help drive the end-to-end investment process. Typical responsibilities include:
- Industry & market research – Identify attractive B2B sectors through structured analysis
- Target generation – Build shortlists of UK businesses that meet our investment criteria
- Owner outreach – Personalise and scale communications to business owners
- Company profiling – Pull financials, evaluate positioning, and flag red flags
- CRM & funnel management – Help us stay organised across conversations
If you’re up for it, you’ll also sit in on calls with founders, investors, and brokers.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll get a crash course in:
- How to think like an investor (screening, diligence, valuation)
- How deals get sourced and negotiated
- How real businesses are evaluated including and beyond spreadsheets
- How to build trust with entrepreneurs—and persuade them to sell
Who We’re Looking For
You need:
- Genuine curiosity about private equity / M&A / entrepreneurship
- Interest in how real-world companies operate and grow
- Drive, ownership, and bias to action
- Strong written communication (you’ll be emailing CEOs directly)
- 15+ hours/week availability for at least 3 months
- UK-based and currently studying at university (ideally business, econ, or similar)
Logistics
- Location: Fully remote
- Start date: Rolling
- Time: 15+ hours/week
- Length: Minimum 3 months
- Compensation: Performance-based. Strong contributors will be significantly financially rewarded and may be offered longer-term roles.
