Job Title : Python Developer
Duration: 6-12 months with possible extension or FTE conversion
Location: LATAM (Remote)
Introduction:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Python Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal as we transition from a legacy ERP system to Odoo, a modern cloud-based platform. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing high-quality software solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to innovative projects. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions using Python.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
- Collaborate with business partners to recreate reports and meet business goals.
- Connect Python applications to multiple APIs and databases, leveraging open-source databases.
- Contribute to data engineering projects by building data pipelines.
- Engage in code reviews, ensure code quality, and implement practical solutions for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and debug Python-related issues as needed.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in Python development.
- Potentially work on AI and microservices projects, although not as a primary focus.
- Be flexible in responsibilities, taking ownership of projects and adapting to various roles as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Python Developer with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Dask, spaCy, NLTK, and PyTorch.
- Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly open-source platforms like Odoo.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in CST 8-5, with flexibility for earlier or later hours and potential on-call duties.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with GitHub, TDD, CI/CD, XML, Odoo, ORM, API, and JSON.
- Knowledge of data science and machine learning concepts and tools.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Contributions to open-source Python projects or active involvement in the Python community.
- Ability to teach Python to other team members is a plus.
Tools and Technologies:
