Freelance AI Engineer – Generative AI (RAG) Sales Enablement Interface

Location: Remote (Europe-based preferred)

Rate: up to €700 per day

Overview:

We’re partnering with a leading commercial organisation seeking to streamline and accelerate their tender management process using Generative AI. We’re looking for one or two experienced AI Engineers with hands-on expertise in RAG pipelines to help develop an intuitive interface that empowers the sales team with fast access to critical product data.

The Mission:

Our client’s current tender process is slowed by the fact that relevant product data (e.g. SKU numbers, recipes, pricing, attributes, etc.) is spread across various systems. The aim is to build a Gen AI-powered solution that allows any salesperson to prompt the system and receive unified, real-time product data from multiple sources – without the need to manually piece together the information.

This is not a data creation task – all the data already exists. The focus is on designing and deploying the right Gen AI + RAG framework to retrieve and present this information through a user-friendly interface.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a Gen AI solution leveraging RAG to retrieve and unify data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate closely with sales stakeholders to understand the user experience and tailor prompts accordingly.
• Build and integrate a front-end interface that enables non-technical users to interact with the system effectively.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance are maintained throughout the process.
• Work iteratively, with quick prototypes and feedback loops to ensure business needs are met.

Ideal Profile:

• Proven experience building and deploying RAG-based Gen AI applications (open-source or commercial LLMs).
• Strong background in NLP, ML, or AI engineering with LLM fine-tuning, vector stores, and embedding models.
• Experience integrating APIs and backend systems for data retrieval and prompt management.
• Previous experience working with commercial or sales teams to design user-centric AI tools.
• Ability to work independently and drive progress in a fully remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset.
