What you will work on

• Diving into our database, you will collaborate in designing, maintaining, and optimising our database systems to efficiently handle high-load environments and large datasets.
• Crafting, refining, and enhancing our backend microservice solutions.
• Complex Data Migrations: Leading efforts in complex data migrations, restructuring data to improve scalability and performance, and ensuring smooth deployment processes.
• Structuring and storing data creatively, employing techniques like partitioning and indexing to improve performance.
• System Design and Architecture: Contributing to the design and architecture of modern, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
• Co-owning in DevOps activities to maintain and improve our infrastructure, ensuring the continuous flow of our systems and code.
• Above all we are truly a team, working closely with Helios, Rocket, Platform, and Geo teams to ensure cohesive and integrated products.

Our team stack

• Most of our applications are written in Python, based on proven frameworks and platforms like Flask & Celery.
• Data goes where it is handled most efficiently. We rely on PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Redis and ElasticSearch.
• It is just about using the above tools to solve business problems, we do not mind if you have no experience working with Python/Flask etc

Your Profile

• You have the depth of knowledge to engineer software that predictably works at scale. You understand the tradeoffs to build modern systems
• You have experience with Python and its ecosystem or you are curious about working with Python and its ecosystem
• You are capable of designing solutions’ architecture taking into consideration parameters like cost, performance and maintainability.
• You understand the nuance of System design, you have experience and understand common practices and you have tools in your toolbox for for addressing new problems.
• You see the connection between a business problem and the impact of your engineering. Often you describe this connection to others and inspire their learning.
• You are humble and always open to exploring new or alternative ways of doing something. You are comfortable making recommendations for the most optimal path.
