As a (Senior) Digital Designer at Project Pluto, you'll be a key player in shaping impactful brand experiences through your creative vision and advanced design skills. You'll lead and contribute to a variety of projects, collaborating with a talented team to transform complex ideas into compelling visual stories. With your expertise, you'll guide the team and use your creativity to make a real difference, working on projects that create value for our clients and the community. We're looking for a passionate and experienced designer with a strong understanding of design principles, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a desire to mentor and inspire others.

Core Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop innovative visual solutions that align with project objectives and target audience needs, leveraging insights and data to inform design decisions.
• Art direction skills are a MUST.
• Lead the development of branding projects, overseeing logo design, brand guidelines, and visual identity systems, ensuring they align with client goals and brand strategy.
• Spearhead the visual design of impactful storytelling projects, crafting compelling graphics for reports, presentations, and campaigns related to social or environmental causes.
• Design visually engaging graphics for websites, including banners, landing pages, and website mockups, ensuring a user-centered approach and optimal visual appeal.
• Oversee the design of visual materials for events and workshops, including presentations, signage, and promotional materials, contributing to event concept development and ensuring a cohesive brand experience.
• Create and curate compelling visual content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), tailoring content to each platform's specifications and audience demographics, while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
• Maintain and evolve brand assets, including logos, style guides, and visual identity elements, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all platforms.
• Collaborate closely with planning, project management and digital development teams to ensure design consistency and effectiveness across all projects, providing guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
• Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity, proactively identifying and addressing any inconsistencies or deviations.
• Create and maintain organized design files and asset libraries, implementing efficient workflows and best practices for file management.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and project leads, providing constructive feedback and guidance to junior designers.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, sharing knowledge and insights with the team to foster innovation.
• Prepare and deliver final design files in appropriate formats for developers, printers, or other team members, ensuring accuracy and quality control.

• Explore and experiment with new design tools and techniques, such as generative design or AI-powered design tools, sharing findings and recommendations with the team.
• Lead design projects independently, managing timelines, resources, and client communication, while providing mentorship and guidance to junior designers.
• Become a subject matter expert in a specific area of design, such as accessible design, sustainable design practices, or data visualization, sharing expertise and best practices with the team.
• Collaborate with the strategy team on developing initial concepts and proposals for new projects, contributing creative insights and strategic recommendations.
• Contribute to the development of Project Pluto's internal design processes and resources, such as creating templates or style guides, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to building client relationships beyond design execution, fostering trust and collaboration.
• Propose and lead the development of internal initiatives, such as design challenges, workshops, or research projects, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity.
• Explore and present new design technologies or methodologies to the team, driving innovation within the design practice.

• 3+ years of relevant design experience.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your branding, visual design, 3D, and motion design skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to craft mockups, maintain a consistent style and art direction, and translate ideas into visuals.
• Proficient in Figma, with experience in creating and maintaining design systems, using components and instances, and working with auto layout.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale effectively.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior designers.
• Understanding of generative AI tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion/Flux) is a plus.
• Proficient in Notion and Google Workspace.
• Demonstrates humility and the ability to continually learn and adapt.
• A willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving design trends.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a knack for finding creative solutions.
• Has a practical, lean, and global creative mindset.
• Shows commitment to growth and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
• Knowledge of illustration, web design, or motion graphics is a plus.
