About The Position
Are you passionate about game development and eager to work on an exciting project in the immersive simulation genre? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Combat Designer to join our team! We are currently working on an immersive sim Eastern fantasy game that offers a unique first-person perspective, and we are seeking a skilled individual to lead the combat and AI development of it.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of innovative and engaging combat mechanics for our immersive sim Eastern fantasy game.
- Create and balance combat systems, ensuring an enjoyable and challenging player experience.
- Collaborate with the game design team to define combat objectives, mechanics, and rules.
- Design and develop AI and algorithms to create dynamic and intelligent enemy encounters.
- Implement and fine-tune combat animations, ensuring smooth and responsive player interactions.
- Conduct regular playtests and iterate on combat systems based on player feedback and data.
- Work closely with artists, programmers, and other team members to integrate combat systems seamlessly into the game.

Qualifications
- Able to use Chinese and English as working languages.
- Proven experience in combat design for video games, preferably within real-time, stealth-based, first-person combat in AA or AAA games.
- Strong understanding of game design principles and mechanics, with a focus on combat and AI.
- Familiarity with game development tools, such as Unreal Engine, and their associated combat and AI tools, such as BT.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to iterate on designs based on feedback and data.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for Eastern fantasy and a keen interest in exploring its themes and aesthetics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on successful game development projects, preferably in the AAA or AA space.
- Familiarity with various game genres especially for immersive sim and an understanding of player preferences.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages, such as C# or C++.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating successful game designs and leadership skills.

About Our Team
Virtuos Chengdu was the second studio ever to be founded by the Virtuos Group back in 2008.
