Lead Game Designer

Job Description

As a Lead Game Designer, you will be responsible for managing a team of Game Designers and to bring the vision of the Design Director into a playable experience. In a context of job creation within a well-established team, you will contribute to ambitious and growing projects.

• Take ownership of the game mechanics and strategies, decide how they should be used in game, and works closely with Programming, Animation and Designer department to drive development towards the vision laid out by the Design Director.
• Supervise the work of the game designers, provide them with feedback and support them in the prioritization and the realization of their tasks. Report their progress to the producer and if necessary to the Design Director.
• Communicate the importance and role(s) of the features to the game team.
• Regularly monitor the documentation and make sure the support is up to date.
• Participate actively to the production planning and define the roadmap of the game design team with the producer.
• Assess the success of the game by measuring how objectives are met.
• Adjust the game to be aligned with the Design Director's vision and in phase with the client's expectations (with high end quality in mind).
• Define the playstyles and the tactics to be used within the game by the targeted players.
• Drive the team toward a benevolent work dynamic, values their skills and encourages their autonomy and their creativity.
• Participate in the development of tools required to implement and adjust game systems in collaboration with Developers.
• Perform any other related tasks, if required.
  
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4-5 years' experience working as a Senior or Lead Game Designer (with at least 1 title shipped).
• Highly proficient in game design and team management.
• Good communication and project management skills, with a proven ability to focus on priorities, all while maintaining a positive team spirit.
• Ability to communicate effectively with different audiences (client, team member, top management...) on a broad range of topics in English, e.g., technical, business, and creative (spoken and written).
