anvi software development teams company
We are a forward-thinking company developing a new product designed to create ad-hoc WiFi mesh networks in areas where permanent networks are impractical—think caves, mines, nature reserves, or heritage sites.
We’re currently in the Proof of Concept (POC) stage and already planning to produce ~500 functional prototypes. We’re now seeking a Firmware Developer / Embedded Software Engineer with hands-on experience in OpenWRT and embedded networking, to help us build the first version of the firmware for our custom hardware modules.
🚀 What You’ll Be Working On
You’ll take the lead in developing OpenWRT-based firmware for the HLK-7628N module, creating a self-organizing ad-hoc mesh network using the 802.11s standard (2.4GHz). Your core tasks will include:
• Developing and configuring OpenWRT firmware optimized for HLK-7628N (MT7628 chipset).
• Implementing ad-hoc mesh networking logic using 802.11s.
• Developing LED indicators based on:
• RSSI signal threshold (placement guidance).
• Loss of connectivity to the gateway device.
• Enabling remote wireless configuration updates (SSID, password, RSSI threshold).
• Ensuring power optimization and mesh stability.
• Preparing for future extensions, including management systems and OTA updates.
🛠 Tech Stack & Requirements
• Must-Have:
• Proven experience with OpenWRT firmware development.
• Strong knowledge of embedded Linux, WiFi networking, and 802.11s mesh networks.
• Experience with low-level debugging and hardware interaction (LEDs, power modes).
• Experience with MT7628 chipsets or similar.
• Strong grasp of wireless signal metrics like RSSI and their application in embedded systems.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with GL.iNet routers.
• Familiarity with OTA update systems.
• Background in building systems for field deployment in harsh conditions.
🌍 Why Join Us
• Work on a high-impact product used in nature conservation and cultural heritage.
• Small team = your decisions matter.
• Opportunity to define firmware architecture from the ground up.
• Fully remote with flexible hours.
