The Role

The Distinguished Engineer will provide strategic technical leadership as an individual contributor, shaping the technical vision and architecture of Kasagi Labo’s AI-powered platform while mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the long-term technical vision and architecture for the platform.
• Solve complex technical challenges and lead innovation in AI and social technologies.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to align technical initiatives with business goals.
• Influence the company’s technology strategy and foster a culture of excellence.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with expertise in AI and social platforms.
• Proven track record of solving complex technical problems and driving innovation.
• Strong ability to influence and guide teams without formal management authority.
• Deep technical expertise and a passion for the anime industry.
• Fluency in React, Next.js and Python
• Experience designing schemas for SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)

Compensation

• Base cash comp starting at S$120,000 - S$220,000
• Generous equity grant
• A RM20K relocation bonus (if moving to Kuala Lumpur)
• Able to work in-office from Monday through Friday
