Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Space Systems (Toulouse, France)


Are you an expert in embedded software with a passion for space technology? We’re looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join a team developing embedded software and algorithms for space-technology and satellite applications.


As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll help us push the boundaries of space technology by working on advanced satellite systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Embedded Software Development: Design, implement, and test embedded software and algorithms for satellite systems.
  • System Integration: Own all aspects of embedded software development, including coding, testing, hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and mission integration.
  • Test Development: Develop test setups to characterize time response, precision, and range of optical steering actuators.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with software engineers to integrate embedded software and algorithms into the satellite flight software stack.
  • Configuration Management: Design and follow rigorous software configuration management processes to ensure code integrity.
  • Documentation & Reviews: Participate in design reviews and prepare necessary documentation for project milestones.


What You Bring to This Role:

  • Education: MS + 5 years or PhD + 2 years in Embedded Software Engineering, Control Systems, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Embedded Software Expertise: Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and testing embedded software for real-time systems.
  • Software Development: Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Matlab/Simulink (3+ years of professional experience).
  • System Identification & Control Techniques: Expertise in system identification, Kalman filters, Model Predictive Control, and linear/non-linear controllers.
  • Real-Time Software: Experience with real-time embedded software development and hands-on debugging of complex systems.
  • Hardware Prototyping: Experience with prototyping hardware (Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.) and building drivers for custom PCBs.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.


Location:

  • Toulouse, France (relocation assistance may be available)


Language Requirements:

  • English proficiency required (French is a plus).
