Location: UK (Remote)

Role Type: Full-Time

Reports to: Support & DevOps Lead

About the Role

We are seeking a UK-based IT Support Specialist to join a small but growing foundational team supporting UK-based clients. This is a fully remote role, ideal for someone who thrives in a distributed environment and can operate with a high level of autonomy and independence.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and supportability of our platforms and services across multiple environments. The role requires strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to coordinate with cross-platform teams across the UK and Asia Pacific time zones.

The position includes participation in a rotating on-call support schedule, including weekend pager duty, with an on-call allowance provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time technical support and incident resolution, working directly with client IT teams.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of support tickets: triage, investigation, resolution, escalation, and documentation.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, including weekend pager support, ensuring coverage and uptime.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure across Linux, Azure environments, and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues; support VPNs, DNS, and basic firewall configurations.
  • Collaborate remotely with global teams, particularly across the UK and Asia Pacific, to ensure consistent incident management and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to internal documentation, runbooks, and support best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an IT support, systems administration, or technical operations role.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux server environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including infrastructure configuration and monitoring.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure support.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage responsibilities independently and coordinate across time zones.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in remote or distributed teams.

Nice to Have Experience

  • Exposure to cybersecurity practices such as system hardening, access control, or vulnerability remediation.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices or tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience supporting applications written in Golang, PHP, C, Angular, or other backend/front-end stacks.
  • Experience working with monitoring and logging platforms to proactively identify and resolve issues.

What We Offer

  • A fully remote position within a close-knit, growing UK-based team.
  • A critical support role with impact across multiple client platforms and services.
  • Participation in a compensated on-call rotation schedule.
  • A collaborative, autonomous working culture that values flexibility and initiative.
