Title: Head of Data

Location/Schedule: 5 Days a week onsite - Dallas, TX - 75243

Company/Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Data to lead our data strategy and execution within the semiconductor industry. This role is ideal for a visionary leader with a proven track record of overseeing large-scale data operations, developing data-driven strategies, and managing teams of 100+ professionals. You will be responsible for leveraging data analytics, AI, and machine learning to drive innovation, optimize manufacturing processes, and enhance business intelligence across the organization. The company is a semiconductor manufacturing plant undergoing a data transformation, transitioning from on-prem infrastructure to an onsite cloud. This role will lead the digital transformation by integrating all teams under a unified cloud infrastructure, partnering with the business to overhaul the software engineering, AI, and automation teams.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements in the semiconductor sector.
  • Oversee large-scale data operations, managing infrastructure, analytics, and governance for a global team.
  • Lead a team of 100+ data professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring best practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI.
  • Define and implement a large-scale data roadmap, ensuring its successful execution at an enterprise level.
  • Implement cutting-edge AI/ML solutions to enhance semiconductor manufacturing, yield optimization, and predictive maintenance.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by integrating real-time analytics and predictive modeling into business processes.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and executive leadership, to drive innovation and operational efficiency.
  • Overhaul the software engineering function, integrating it into a cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Lead the AI and automation teams to leverage data for optimizing semiconductor production and quality control.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance data capabilities and support digital transformation initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in data leadership roles, with a strong background in the semiconductor industry or large-scale manufacturing (vehicles, microchips, microcontrollers, industrial applications, embedded processors, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing and scaling large teams (100+ employees) across multiple geographies.
  • Expertise in big data architecture, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and data engineering frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Python for data engineering and analytics.
  • Experience defining and implementing large-scale data roadmaps.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML applications in semiconductor manufacturing, supply chain optimization, and process automation.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
