Role Overview

We're seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer for a full-time contract role to maintain and enhance our web apps, primarily focused on our Laravel-based web applications and WordPress plugins. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a strong sense of design and user experience, leveraging modern AI-powered development tools to work efficiently and deliver high-quality solutions that serve our e-commerce customers.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve our Laravel-based web applications that serve major retail brands
  • Maintain and improve our WordPress plugins, ensuring compatibility with the latest WordPress versions and optimal performance
  • Implement new features and improvements with a focus on clean, efficient, and maintainable code
  • Collaborate with our product and design teams to create intuitive user experiences optimized for e-commerce
  • Optimize application performance and resolve technical issues affecting our retail customers
  • Use AI-powered development tools like Cursor to accelerate development while maintaining code quality
  • Contribute to technical documentation and code reviews


Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience with PHP and modern PHP development practices
  • Proven expertise in Laravel framework and application development
  • Good WordPress development skills, including plugin development
  • Understanding of e-commerce platforms and common integration requirements
  • Strong eye for design and user experience - you understand what makes a good e-commerce UI/UX
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and modern development workflows
  • Proficiency with AI-powered development tools and ability to leverage them effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Track record of delivering high-quality code efficiently and meeting deadlines


Technical Requirements

  • Expert-level PHP knowledge
  • Strong Laravel experience
  • Good WordPress development skills
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Understanding of REST APIs and web services
  • Knowledge of database design and optimization
  • Experience with deployment and DevOps practices
  • Shopify development experience is a plus


Contract Terms

  • Full-time contract position (40 hours/week)
  • Remote work arrangement
  • Initial 12-month contract with potential for long-term collaboration
  • Hourly rate: $18-$25/hr based on experience
