Role Description

We are seeking a hybrid Project Manager & Business Analyst to join GYLD and to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of features for our proprietary analytics platform, which has guided 60+ game projects (from indie to AAA) in design decisions, funding strategies, and market positioning.

Your role is critical in translating complex technical requirements into actionable project plans, ensuring alignment with GYLD’s mission to democratize access to game funding through AI and market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Develop, implement, and refine project management processes and workflows.
  • Coordinate tasks, milestones, deliverables, and ensure projects adhere to timelines.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings, stand-ups, retrospectives, and related rituals.

Business Analysis

  • Gather, analyze, and decompose complex business requirements into clear, actionable specifications.
  • Translate technical concepts and system requirements clearly for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Actively collaborate with stakeholders to define, validate, and prioritize project needs.
  • Conduct needs analysis with game developers/publishers to identify platform requirements (e.g., “What data do indie studios need to secure funding?”).

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between development teams, business units, clients, and executive stakeholders.
  • Regularly present progress, risks, and opportunities clearly and persuasively.
  • Ensure transparency and proactive communication across all project phases.
  • Resolve conflicts between competing priorities (e.g., platform scalability vs. rapid feature delivery).

Required Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable qualification or certification in Project Management (PMBOK, PRINCE2) and Business Analysis (BABOK).
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a hybrid or overlapping Project Management and Business Analyst role.
  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles (SDLC).
  • Proven ability to document detailed technical and business requirements and effectively manage project deliverables.

Technical Expertise:

  • Fluency in Project Management tools (e.g., JIRA or Azure DevOps).
  • Familiarity with BA frameworks, approaches and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with technical terminologies in data-driven information systems.

Domain Knowledge

  • Prior experience in video games (as producer / project manager).
  •  Fluency in terminologies and concepts in the video games industry.
  • Understanding of game development cycles, publisher/developer dynamics and funding models.

Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications

Communication

Excellent communication skills with a proven record of stakeholder management, team coordination and project direction.

Leadership

Candidates with prior leadership in project management with proven experience in navigating dynamic, rapidly evolving projects with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

Considerations

This role is perfect for someone:

Highly detail orientated, proactive and self-directed.

Flexible and collaborative, knowing when to be assertive and when to identify creative solutions.

Prefers to be autonomous and take ownership over both their own role as well as decisions to benefit the wider team.

Comfortable context-switching between high-level strategic vision and granular task management.
