We are seeking a freelance Data Engineer based anywhere in Europe to work remotely on exciting projects! If you have expertise in Databricks, Azure, Data Factory, and supply chain industry experience, this role is perfect for you.
About the Role
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our analytics and machine learning initiatives. You’ll work closely with product owners, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making and optimize operations.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Develop and maintain data pipelines in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics
✅ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure accessibility
✅ Optimize performance and scalability of data pipelines
✅ Implement data quality processes for reliable and high-integrity data
✅ Improve data integration processes for better reliability
✅ Stay updated on data engineering best practices and industry trends
What We’re Looking For
🔹 4+ years experience as a Data Engineer, ETL Developer, or similar role
🔹 Strong skills in SQL, Spark SQL, and Python
🔹 Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and Microsoft data platform
🔹 Ability to develop/manage Apache Spark applications using PySpark on Databricks
🔹 Understanding of streaming data ingestion and dimensional modeling
🔹 Experience with Git, DevOps, and CI/CD
🔹 Background in supply chain or retail industry is a plus
