We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled IT Business System Analyst to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. In this role, you will analyze business processes, gather requirements, and collaborate with technical teams to implement and optimize IT systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
As part of the QTerminals IT team, the incumbent will work closely with all the departments of QTerminals. The role is based in QTerminals Hamad Port in Doha, Qatar, and reports to the Head of Business Solutions.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional IT requirements.
- Document business processes, workflows, system interactions and integrations.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend process improvements.
- Facilitate workshops, work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to design and implement business solutions.
System Implementation & Support:
- Assist in the design, development, and deployment of IT systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Support Oracle Fusion ERP, IBM Maximo, Navis N4 TOS and other enterprise applications, troubleshooting system issues and ensuring optimal performance. First-Level Application Support & Incident Management.
- Work with vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to resolve technical and functional issues.
- Assist in change management and user training to ensure smooth adoption of new solutions.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Develop test cases, conduct system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure system changes and upgrades do not disrupt business operations.
Project Management & Documentation:
- Assist in IT project planning, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Understanding of Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Apply PMI methodologies and best practices to manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Data Analysis, Reporting:
- Extract and analyze data to support business decision-making.
- Develop reports and dashboards to provide insights on system performance and business processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science / Engineering or similar discipline from a reputable university.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business System Analyst or similar role. Experience in the port industry or terminal operations is an advantage.
- A PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) ® certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Experience of Oracle Fusion, IBM Maximo, and Navis applications is a significant plus.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with system integration, APIs, and cloud-based solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve business system-related issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
