Pay: $55-70/hr T4A

Required Skills & Experience

  • +8 years DevOps experience
  • Advanced Level knowledge of Azure infrastructure & Kubernetes Openshift helm and secondary experience with another cloud platform (AWS is preferred)
  • Strong experience working in an Agile environment
  • Lengthy exposure to databases - having the ability to optimize queries in case of outage; must be able to use SQL queries to generate reports
  • Proficiency working with Terraform, Helm and Kubernetes; scripting (Bash)
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka
  • Some exposure to monitoring and logging - such as Grifana, Prometheus and open telemetry
  • Strong pipeline configuration experience
  • Prior understanding of MS SQL Databases is required

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of AWS is considered an asset
  • Previous Healthcare or insurance experience would be considered an asset
  • Prior experience with Goalng, Ansible or Chef, Openshift
  • AWS Cloudformation and Azure ARM Templates would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience with ELK
  • Proven experience with Security and Compliance (SOC2, HIPAA, ISO27001) best practices and how to implement controls that support high-velocity software delivery teams.

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a seasoned Cloud Engineer to join a Toronto-based Health Technology company.

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, automating, deploying and operating production grade services on a variety of cloud vendors and various infrastructure platforms for the company, its clients and partners. This position works with various teams to ensure that infrastructure needs are fulfilled for various teams and departments including but not limited to Information Services, Privacy & Security, Engineering, Product, Client Support and Delivery.

Primary Functions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and deliver complex and highly available cloud and platform solutions for internal and external projects.
  • Provide recommendations and expertise as it relates to cloud and platform provisioning within the organization.
  • Participate in cloud and infrastructure deployments and delivery by providing subject matter expertise on infrastructure related components.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure code for various solutions and provide support to clients or partners on Smile supported infrastructure codes.
  • Maintain documentation, forms and processes to support Smile Digital Health business needs including but not limited to technical documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation plans and root cause analyses.
  • Participate in sprint, project and department planning for technology implementations and transformation. Contribute to tooling capability assessments, proof of concepts and technology roadmaps to ensure that organization adheres to industry best practices.
  • Leverage novel cloud and platform technologies to enhance operations, maintenance and security across the organization.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide application and infrastructure support, incident management and troubleshooting, as required.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in Netsuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked (billable and non-billable) and that the project management tool in Netsuite is properly and fully utilized.
  • When applicable, tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability.
