Location: Darmstadt, Germany - English speaking and relocation assistance provided for EU nationals.

Join our clients team at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) as part of their Network Operations Centre (NOC).


About the Role:


As an IT Support Technician, you will be a vital part of the NOC team, responsible for coordinating, configuring, and monitoring activities related to the ESA. The NOC provides 1st and 2nd line support to ESA space missions and its users, ensuring seamless Ground Operations, Operational IT, and Operational Control Centre services.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Hardware Installations: Set up and configure IT hardware for operational use.
  • Hardware Maintenance and Support: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of IT hardware.
  • Cable Installation, Testing, and Patching: Manage and maintain cabling infrastructure.
  • Spare Part Management: Communicate with vendors and manage spare parts inventory.
  • Shipping and Handling: Oversee equipment deliveries and shipments.
  • Configuration Management: Maintain and manage system configurations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance to prevent hardware failures.
  • Procedure Reporting and Review: Document and review operational procedures.
  • Ticket Handling: Manage incident, service request, and request for change (RfC) tickets.
  • Application Administration/Configuration: Administer and configure various applications.
  • Refurbishment and Engineering Projects: Support refurbishment projects and engineering activities.


Preferred Skills:


  • Knowledge and administration of UNIX and Windows systems.
