Specialist - OT Networks in AUSTRALIA

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate individual to join our team to provide technical support and leadership for the management, configuration, and support of Whitehaven’s fixed and wireless Operational Technology data networks.

Reporting into the Principal - OT Networks, this role ensures that Whitehaven’s OT networks are deployed, operated and maintained to meet operational standards and requirements while contributing to continuous improvement across all our operations.

You will be responsible for the administration and support of OT networking solutions for mining and processing operations and will achieve this by collaborating with our operations, contractors and suppliers.

What you will do:

• Provide technical support for the implementation, operation and maintenance of OT networks ensuring maximum availability, performance and value.
• Oversee OT network asset and configuration management including backups, monitoring and lifecycle tracking.Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance network reliability and efficiency.
• Conduct network incident and problem management including Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and maintaining a Known Error Database (KEDB) for reoccurring issues.
• Provide technical support to define, maintain and optimise OT systems, focusing on reliability, performance, and efficiency. 
• Collaborate with site-based OT teams to troubleshoot technical issues, enhance system functionality and align with best practices.

What you will bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Technology or relevant OT experience in a mining environment. 
• Demonstrated experience with wireless network data transmission within a mining or industrial environment. 
• Experience with network routing and switching technologies. 
• In-depth knowledge of network device asset and configuration management. 
• Ability to support change management processes and display strong stakeholder communication skills.
