Kotlin Engineer - Contract - Remote

This is an exciting role for those who enjoy Software Engineering. You will be working with a UK based Tech Start Up helping to build out a POC and first two customer platforms for their product, which is a community building platform which helps clients understand their customer data from various end points such as CRM, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram etc and allows them to make better decisions using AI.
You will ensure high-quality code is delivered in line with project goals and delivery cycles. You’ll thrive using agile methods and enjoy working openly, collaboratively and as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on one or more projects.
Things you will be responsible for:
- Understanding business requirements and translating them into innovative technical solutions
- Good communicator - to discuss and solve problems with the business and team.
- Being able to write clean, simple code in Kotlin
Things you’ll need:
- Have good E.Q. - The ability to get along and build relationships.
- To be able to learn the domain and application rapidly and to be able to speak with confidence about it within a short period.
- Enjoy working in environments where you like understanding the customer.
- 5+ years of building applications, with good JVM knowledge.- Kotlin
- 5+ years of working with and releasing code onto Public Cloud providers such as AWS & GCP
- Proven track record of being able to build things quickly, but also well. At the same time, recognising the tradeoffs of different approaches.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems on your own, but also knowing when to go to your peers for help.
- Rationale thinking - you’ll need to know your ‘why’ behind the way you do things.
- Be able to understand Software architecture rapidly.

- Rapid feedback cycles (quick build, local envs, good test coverage of the domain)
- Separate core logic from the framework (the most important asset is the business logic, not the framework)
