Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake) in SAN DIEGO METROPOLITAN AREA

Background: A global Investments company, specializing in tailored investment and advisory services, seeks a Senior Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering team.

Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for data processing and its transformation for the Enterprise which will enable users including Data Science, Analytics, Business Intelligence teams to apply machine learning, perform descriptive analytics, and build interactive dashboards to solve critical business questions.

What Will You Do:

• serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Snowflake Enterprise Data Warehouse, providing technical expertise, guidance, and best practices to support data management
• design, implement, and automate ELT processes and data pipelines in Snowflake, leveraging its native capabilities and data integration tools to support Enterprise data processing and transformation
• develop and maintain data orchestration workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, or other similar frameworks to automate and manage data pipeline execution, dependencies, and scheduling
• lead the evaluation and integration of new data sources into the EDW, assessing technical feasibility and aligning with business objectives for optimal data delivery
• demonstrate proficiency in designing and optimizing Star Schema in Snowflake to enhance performance tuning, scalability, and data delivery, while automating manual data processes
• provide expert guidance on data management, data warehousing, data modeling, data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data security initiatives utilizing Snowflake RBAC
• stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending innovations to enhance and evolve data capabilities

• this is a 100% hands-on Data Engineering role
• full-time HYBRID role located in the San Diego Metro Area (onsite + WFH); relocation assistance provided for those that require it

Responsibilities/Experience:

• Bachelors / Masters is required
• Snowflake + SQL + Python experience is a MUST
• 3+ years of experience as a hands-on Data Engineer (ELT / ETL, data pipelines)
• deep understanding of Snowflake data warehousing platform
• experience with dbt for modeling data and creating data transformation pipelines; using Airflow for orchestrating complex data workflows and pipelines
