FinTech Examiner (Supervision)


Location: Hamilton, Bermuda

Full Time Permanent role

Salary: $114,000 per annum

Relocation package on offer for Non-Bermudians


I am currently recruiting for a FinTech Examiner on behalf of my client, a respected regulatory body dedicated to supervising financial technology firms and ensuring compliance in the evolving world of digital assets. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the oversight and regulation of the evolving FinTech landscape.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing applications, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Conducting on-site reviews and supervisory meetings, utilising risk assessment methodologies to evaluate compliance with laws and industry best practices.
  • Monitoring market developments and providing insights and recommendations on emerging FinTech trends.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to gain a holistic understanding of risks, including AML/ATF, cybersecurity, and financial stability concerns.
  • Analysing online presence and blockchain transactions through sentiment analysis and forensic tools.
  • Identifying high-risk firms and overseeing compliance monitoring efforts, including direct engagement with company representatives.
  • Contributing to the development of Supervisory Technology (SupTech) tools and related projects.
  • Supporting regulatory committees through report generation, agenda preparation, and documentation.
  • Undertaking special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Law, Technology, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in financial services, regulatory supervision, or compliance, particularly within emerging technologies.
  • A strong interest in digital assets, distributed ledger technology, and cryptocurrency with a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment in assessing regulatory issues and escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Familiarity with blockchain technology, digital asset mining, content creation in the FinTech space (e.g., podcasts, YouTube), or regulatory frameworks governing digital finance.
