Located in Central Jakarta, our Tripledot Studios Indonesia office is well located for an easy commute and with plenty to do in the local area.
The award-winning team here has a 14-year presence in the Indonesian games industry, with some of the best talent found in Indonesia. Our team consists of the most experienced and skilled game experts in Southeast Asia. We believe in mixing work with a good dose of fun, our office is a place where everyone can feel at home. Just a fun fact, Jakarta is one of the world's most populous, and fastest-growing metropolitan area. The city is the economic and financial hub of Indonesia, major centre for finance, commerce, trade, and attracting businesses and investors from around the world. As the result of that, Jakarta is a very friendly city for expatriates to live. They have formed communities to help one another to adjust for living in Jakarta.
Due to its location, Jakarta is an ideal spot for taking weekend trips. If you have a car — which may be a worthwhile investment considering the difficulties of public transportation — you can simply drive out of the city and head to a nice secluded beach or hike along the rice paddies and visit one of the numerous temples scattered throughout Indonesia. Famous cities and countries like Bali, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand are only 3 hours away flight time from Jakarta!

Role Overview
As the Lead Technical Artist, you will manage and guide a skilled team, overlooking the technical art for one of our games
Piper's Pet Cafe. For this role, effective managerial skills and strategic planning are crucial for meeting project goals and enhancing individual growth within the team.
This position requires a strong technical background, collaboration across various departments, and team mentoring to ensure optimal game performance and excellent visuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical:
- Design and implement the 'Unity layer' linking art and animation with the programmers' codebase
- Construct new game features within Unity, including Unity UI, following internal technical workflow
- Write custom C# components for complex visual elements
- Optimise new and existing features
- Create animations, particle effects, and custom shaders
- Managerial:
- Lead and mentor a team of 5 talented Technical Artists
- Take a proactive role in product development according to company goals
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to task planning and estimation with other Leads
Required Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Technical:
- Expertise in the Unity engine, especially Unity UI
- Experience with different architectural approaches to game development
- Ability to write clean, performant C# code
- Experience working with Git and knowledge of its best practices
- Ability to create animations, particle effects and custom shaders
- Experience optimising games for smooth performance on various devices
- Managerial:
- Proven experience in leading a team, with the ability to mentor and guide team members
- Experience in strategic planning and accurate tasks estimation, aligning with project timelines and company objectives
- Drive to proactively optimise technical art workflows to enhance team efficiency and performance
