In your role as a Backend Engineer, you will hold a pivotal position in developing a cutting-edge digital identity product that will serve millions of end-users worldwide.
What will you do
Join our dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality software efficiently. As a Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing the core of our new product.
- Developing from ground zero, maintaining, and optimizing backend applications using NodeJS/NestJS, while also leveraging Web3, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Postgres.
- Integrating blockchain technologies and providers to enable seamless interactions.
- Implementing secure and efficient encryption methods.
- Working closely with Product and Engineering teams to design and launch new features.
- Ensuring code quality and maintainability through best practices and regular code reviews.
- Continuously improving software engineering practices and processes.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of our CI/CD processes.
- Delivering customer-facing APIs and developer-friendly documentation for a self-service product.
- Demonstrating initiative and reliability in completing tasks independently.
- Upholding professionalism in interactions with both business stakeholders and end-users.
- Keeping abreast of the latest innovations and technological advancements to enhance our product delivery practices.
What we expect from this role
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A deep passion for technology, demonstrated by at least 3 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, specifically with Node.js.
- Proficiency in AWS or equivalent cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) with a strong understanding of scalable architectures.
- Extensive experience with relational database modelling, particularly using PostgreSQL or similar databases.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced Agile environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of tasks and drive projects from concept to deployment while meeting deadlines.
- A strong commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, recognizing the importance of high-quality standards for long-term project success.
- Proficiency in other backend technologies, particularly Python, is a significant plus.
