You’re not a tester, you’re a developer. Our Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) bridge the gap between Quality Assurance and Software Engineering, and it’s all about automation. To ensure that Mews delivers high quality applications to hotels and guests around the world, we need to elevate our testing game - we need automation engineers. If you prefer script-writing over document-writing, and frameworks over manual work, then we can be friends. This role is embedded in the engineering team and works closely with product managers, data analysts and DevOps to guide development outcomes. We use GitHub, C#,TypeScript and Azure DevOps for tools, and we welcome innovative solutions and languages.

✅ Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Take ownership of testing initiatives, showcasing autonomy and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player, contributing to teams with a proven track record of achieving successful outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain business/product-oriented testing strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Design, implement, and execute automated tests across multiple levels, including unit, integration, contract, API, end-to-end (e2e), and performance testing.
  • Drive fast feedback strategies to accelerate development cycles and improve product quality.
  • Define and document base testing strategies and comprehensive test plans to guide testing efforts.
  • Evaluate and select testing frameworks, providing insights into their advantages and disadvantages (e.g., familiarity with frameworks like Selenium, Jest, or Cypress is a plus).
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, leveraging base knowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes.
  • Engage with team members to discuss and enhance the testability of developed applications, ensuring robust quality standards.

🤝️ You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

  • Proficiency in C# and/or TypeScript programming languages.
  • Strong testing and automation mindset, with hands-on experience in test automation tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with testing across various levels, including unit, integration, contract, API, e2e, and performance testing.
  • Ability to understand and drive fast feedback strategies to support agile development practices.
  • Capability to define and implement testing strategies and detailed test plans.
  • Knowledge of multiple testing frameworks, with the ability to compare and contrast their (dis)advantages.
  • Understanding of CI/CD processes and test integration within development pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills to discuss testability and collaborate with development teams
  • Demonstrated experience in taking ownership of projects or initiatives with measurable results.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement in testing and automation practices.
