Android Developer in EUROPEAN UNION

We’re looking for a skilled Android Developer to join our team and help take our apps to the next level. As part of the largest global social network for language learning, you’ll work on improving user interactions and enhancing the learning experience. You’ll collaborate with a talented team to build beautiful, efficient apps and contribute to API design decisions.

This is a 6-month contract position, and fully remote. You must have worked on applications with millions over users across several countries

Tech Stack:

• Architecture: Clean Architecture, MVP, MVVM
• Languages: 40% Kotlin (transitioning from Java)
• Libraries: Retrofit, Dagger 2, RxJava, Room, Butterknife, Mockito
• Practices: Agile (Scrum), Unit Testing, Dependency Injection

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and optimize Android apps for a global user base.
• Collaborate with UX teams to create intuitive, user-friendly designs.
• Participate in the full app lifecycle: from project creation to deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable code with a focus on simplicity and pragmatism.
• Contribute to API design and ensure seamless integration with backend services.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Android development with a portfolio of shipped apps.
• Strong knowledge of Java and some experience with Kotlin.
• Expertise in unit testing (Mockito preferred).
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with Android UI principles and app optimization.
• Experience with design patterns and mobile development best practices.
• A passion for great app design and user experience.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Retrofit, Dagger 2, RxJava, or Room.
• Knowledge of Clean Architecture, MVP, or MVVM.
