Role & Responsibilities
take on an expert and mentoring role for other members of the team
Work within a highly motivated team to advance the development of a state-of-the-art Geospatial AI Platform and delivery tools
Develop Raster Data Lake capable of efficiently storing and seamlessly serving vast amounts of raster data measured in petabytes
Develop Vector Data Lake with the capacity to effectively store and seamlessly serve billions of features
Implement high-performance and maintainable server-side code that will run in parallel on hundreds of nodes in the cloud to deliver value for a variety of different uses and applications in the geospatial AI domain
Optimize server-side services and write the tools which are then used by the end users
Work closely with the engineering manager and give feedback on technical feasibility, risks and approximate effort of high-level feature requests
Take a leading role in the decision making process for key technical questions for delivery tools
Perform code reviews and actively engage with the team’s goal of maintaining clean and readable code and lean documentation
Requirements
MUST HAVE
You are willing to relocate to Austria (Europe) and work on site at the company headquarters
7+ years of experience in software development
Strong Python skills
You are familiar with databases such as PostgreSQL
You have good grasp of software engineering fundamentals: unit testing, CI/CD, automated quality assurance, integration testing, reliability, and reproducibility
You like the challenge of integrating different data sources, developing large-scale APIs and GIS tools
You are a good communicator, enjoy working in a team and are quick on your feet
you feel comfortable working in a start-up / scale-up with a fast-moving environment, very flat hierarchies and lot's of innovation
