Own & Shape a High-Impact SaaS Product in a Fast-Growing Tech Company

My client is looking for a Technical Product Owner who doesn’t just understand what a system does but truly gets how it works. This role is a hybrid of product ownership and product management, requiring someone who can take full ownership of feature development, system integrations, and technical workflows.

You’ll be working on a high-traffic SaaS platform that serves thousands of users daily, ensuring seamless system performance, data integrity, and API-driven automation. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, digging into data models and integrations, and working closely with engineers and architects, this is the perfect role for you.

This is not a coding role, but you must have the ability to discuss database relationships, API architectures, system integrations, and AI-enhanced features with technical teams.

About the Company

My client is a fast-growing SaaS company transforming the way businesses in the property, travel, and hospitality sectors operate. Their platform enables thousands of businesses to automate, integrate, and optimise their operations.

They are:

  • A team of problem-solvers, innovators, and tech enthusiasts who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Focused on AI-enhanced automation, seamless integrations, and intuitive user experiences.
  • Committed to building a scalable, high-performance platform for customers across multiple international markets.

You’ll work alongside top-tier engineers, designers, and industry experts, shaping a platform that powers thousands of businesses globally.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Technical Product Owner, you’ll take full ownership of product development and work closely with engineering teams to build high-performing SaaS solutions.

  • Lead feature development from concept to release—balancing business needs with technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure system performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Create wireframes and mockups to demonstrate user journeys and feature flows.
  • Document technical specifications and acceptance criteria, ensuring smooth system integration.
  • Understand database structures and data modelling, contributing to backend design decisions.
  • Define API requirements, ensuring they support new and existing features efficiently.
  • Investigate data issues using SQL queries and validate solutions through data exploration.
  • Work on AI-powered features, such as automated suggestions, content generation, and intelligent data processing.
  • Participate in technical planning sessions, contributing design and implementation ideas.
  • Ensure system integration runs smoothly, considering challenges like data validation, error handling, and quality assurance.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for stakeholders across the business.

What My Client is Looking For

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner in SaaS, hospitality, e-commerce, marketplaces, travel booking, or B2B applications.
  • Strong technical understanding—must be able to discuss APIs, database relationships, and integrations in depth.
  • Hands-on experience with APIs—you can confidently discuss endpoints, authentication, data flows, and integrations.
  • Database knowledge—you understand data structures, relationships, and performance considerations.
  • Experience with AI-powered features—such as automated suggestions, content generation, or intelligent data workflows.
  • Previous experience in a high-traffic platform—preferably at companies like Groupon, Deliveroo, Sage, or similar.
  • Experience with marketplaces, travel booking, retail, or e-commerce systems.
  • Ability to read API documentation and optimise API interactions for a seamless user experience.
  • Strong knowledge of system integration challenges and how to overcome them.
  • Familiarity with SQL (or willingness to learn) to analyse data and validate feature performance.
  • Experience with Figma, Axure, or similar design tools to create wireframes and interactive prototypes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities—ability to identify root causes and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Strong communication skills—able to explain technical decisions clearly and defend your reasoning when needed.
  • Comfortable balancing business needs with technical feasibility in a fast-moving environment.

🚫 This role is not suitable for candidates from a traditional banking tech background—my client is looking for experience in fast-moving, consumer-facing platforms.
