Vacancy – Graphic Designer and DTP Operator

KYTA Industries (PTY)Ltd has the following vacancy at our Johannesburg Kya Sands branch.
As market leaders for retail display solutions and merchandising systems, Kyta Industries has an innovative and creative design team consisting of graphic and industrial designers.
We are seeking an analytical and methodical individual with high attention to detail and previous experience as required to ensure print and cut files are accurate; and correctly set for efficient manufacture.
Responsibilities:
- Amend and manipulate artwork and cut files as required.
- Create visually appealing designs to meet briefs.
- Create artwork approvals and prepare print files for production.
- Ensure print files match artwork approvals.
- Bridge production, design, sales, and administration about all aspects as required for ultimate efficiency within manufacturing.
- Calculate media needs based on nesting.
- Requesting media purchase order as per nesting efficiencies
- Sample production and first of run approvals
- Maintain an organised file management system to ensure easy retrieval and future reference of design files and assets.
- Assist in the creation of graphic elements to be used on visual presentations of 3D products, i.e. decals, client presentations layouts, etc.
- Design and maintenance of sales catalogues in collaboration with design HOD and sales team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma/degree in graphic design qualification compulsory.
- DTP tertiary qualification preferable
- Min 3 years related experience.
- Holistic understanding of flatbed printing and related equipment.
- Caldera RIP and Prime Centre experience advantageous.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) & Microsoft Office compulsory.
- Your overall creativity and ability to incorporate excellent graphics into your work as well as any other skills like web design would be advantageous.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail, adherence to deadlines & initiative.
Successful incumbent will report into the Head of Design.
