Successful Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced full-stack engineer to build a large enterprise developer platform, combining highly interactive and graphical interfaces, robust natural-language search functionality, and queries over complex graph data models.
As a young startup, we value engineers who bias toward shipping quickly and working iteratively. The ideal candidate aims for a simple architecture that prioritises productivity and maintainability, and has personally overseen the growth of a web stack from prototype to mature application.
We believe the best engineers can learn a specific framework quickly, so value a deep understanding of engineering fundamentals in relevant domains over experience with specific technologies.
We are convinced that tackling a problem of this scale requires everyone to come together in person and have an office-first culture. We won't track your working hours and don't care if you work from home once in a while because of other commitments. However, we expect you to be London-based and work from our office at Baker Street whenever possible.

Requirements
The list below specifies areas the engineering team as a whole will cover. Successful candidates do not require experience with all points, but we would love to meet talented engineers who cover multiple areas.
Front-End: React
- Extensive experience working on a highly-interactive with graphical and animated drag-and-drop interfaces, similar to those of Miro, Excalidraw, or Figma
- Comfortable using TypeScript, with thorough understanding of type systems
- Deeply understands the underlying React framework and knowledgeable on modern browser technologies such as service workers and local storage
Back End
- Full-stack candidates should demonstrate a deep understanding of system design, and be able to express tradeoffs between different architectural decisions
- We use NextJS for the web app. It is helpful if the candidate has experience with this, but demonstrated deep experience with any other frameworks (e.g. Express, Flask, ASP.NET) is equally valued
- Other backend services are currently a mix of TypeScript on Node, and Python. Experience with both languages is helpful as they will be used extensively
- We’re dealing with a complex data model, and experience with Neo4j or other graph databases is helpful. A demonstrated understanding of database fundamentals (be it relational, graph, or noSQL) is important
- We anticipate building search functionality using ElasticSearch or similar. We are seeking candidates with experience building search tooling, from front-end through to query and data storage layer
- Our system will integrate with GenAI models. Experience using multiple different GenAI models and building RAG agents, as well as knowledge of libraries such as LangChain, is valuable
