The Game Creators (TGC) are the developers behind the leading app ‘Driving Theory Test 4in1Kit’ – Apple’s #1 paid-for app for the last seven years and the top app for Driving Theory on both iOS and Android. Based in the UK, we have been developing games and software since 1999, from cross-platform apps to complex programming languages.

The Role

TGC is seeking an experienced, self-motivated AI Developer to implement a new AI feature into our award-winning Learn to Drive app.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a specific AI-powered feature for our apps
• Choose and refine an AI model that powers this feature
• Optimise the AI for local deployment on mobile devices (iPhone and Android), ensuring efficient performance, size and minimal (and zero) reliance on cloud processing
• Collaborate with our team of developers to integrate the AI seamlessly into our existing mobile applications
• Test and refine the AI to ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and a user-friendly experience
• Stay up-to-date with AI advancements and suggest improvements to enhance the app’s functionality

Skills and experience

• Proven experience in AI development, demonstrate actual apps created
• Strong understanding of AI APIs (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or third-party services) and how to implement them effectively
• Expertise in training AI models with domain-specific content and datasets
• Experience deploying AI solutions to run locally on mobile devices (iOS and Android), with knowledge of frameworks like Core ML, TensorFlow Lite, or similar
• Proficiency in programming languages such as React Native, Python, Swift, Objective C, Kotlin, Java
• Familiarity with UK driving regulations and the learner driver curriculum is a plus, but not essential
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
