This Amsterdam-based FinTech is looking for an Technical Lead to lead a talented team delivering cutting-edge technology solutions for a financial exchange.

This company is recognised as a global market leader and one of the largest trading exchanges worldwide.

You’ll oversee highly collaborative teams guiding technical decisions and driving project success. Your role will blend technical expertise with leadership, contributing to the company’s growth and strategy while ensuring the efficient delivery of scalable and reliable software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Mentor and support engineers, fostering skill development and continuous improvement.
• Lead team recruitment and collaborate on hiring across departments.
• Plan projects, allocate resources, and manage scope to ensure timely delivery.
• Align technical efforts with product features and stakeholder needs.
• Guide technical design, resolve escalations, and manage technical debt.
• Remaining hands-on with engineering tasks an estimated 30% of the time

Essential Experience:

• 2yrs+ exp leading a team
• A background in software engineering (and a willingness to remain at least partially hands-on)
• Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Kotlin, Scala, Typescript, Golang, Erlang, Rust
• Exp implementing or maintaining a culture of Test Driven development
• Experience with complex architectural demands, such as ultra low latency, high scalability, very large user numbers etc.
• You can demonstrate strong project management experience

Beneficial experience:

• Experience in the Financial Trading or Betting domain

NOTE - YOU'LL BE JOINING AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE VELOCITY IS THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY, GIVEN THE FAST PACED NATURE OF THIS PRODUCT AND THE SECTOR IT OPERATES WITHIN. YOU'RE SOMEONE THAT IS USED TO THIS WAY OF WORKING AND CAN PRIORITISE WORK THAT WILL ALLOW THE TEAM TO MOVE FAST AND EXECUTE QUICKLY VERSUS WORKING ON SOMETHING THAT IS A "NICE TO HAVE". ANYONE WITH THIS HIGH GROWTH EXPERIENCE, OR SOMEONE THAT HAS WORKED ON A PRODUCT THAT HAS THESE KINDS OF DEMANDS (HIGH LOAD, LOW LATENCY, 24/7/356 ETC.) IS REQUIRED.

YOU ALSO NEED TO BE SOMEONE THAT IS CONFIDENT IN HANDLING HIGHLY TECHNICAL AND DEMANDING PROJECTS AND CAN RELY ON A STRONG TECHNICAL BACKGROUND & UNDERSTANDING OF UP TO DATE ENGINEERING CONCEPTS & TOOLS.

📍 Location – Amsterdam (hybrid working model, 3 days in the office)

💰 Salary – from €120-150K depending on experience. High bonus potential and pension

📅 Start Date – ASAP

📄 HSMV & 30%

✈ Relocation Support if not currently based in the Netherlands
