As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and system infrastructure for process mining. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a crucial role in data-driven decision-making.


Main Responsibilities:


Data Engineering Leadership
  • Own and improve complex system modules (E2E technical system owner).
  • Design and implement robust ETL processes for process mining platforms.
  • Build scalable data solutions ensuring accuracy, integrity, and performance.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to develop efficient data models and pipelines.
  • Introduce technical innovations and mentor junior engineers.


Process Mining Enablement
  • Integrate and configure process mining tools (e.g., Celonis) with enterprise data.
  • Develop and maintain data models for process mining.
  • Ensure seamless data flow for real-time and historical analysis.
  • Support data scientists and analysts with infrastructure needs.
  • Manage complex improvement and development projects.


Data Quality & Governance
  • Ensure production stability, availability, and security of applications.
  • Enforce data quality standards and conduct audits.
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines.
  • Maintain documentation for data architecture and workflows.


Collaboration & Communication
  • Steer internal/external IT service providers for operations.
  • Work with business teams to define key metrics and KPIs.
  • Support functional units and key users.
  • Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.


Desired Profile:
  • Fluent in written and spoken English (German is a plus).
  • Ideally, a university degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT or 3+ years in data engineering with a focus on ETL and data integration.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica).
  • Experience with process mining tools like Celonis or UiPath Process Mining.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and/or big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
  • Understanding of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and their data structures.
  • Experience with IT management tools (JIRA, CAPE) is beneficial.
  • Strong communication and moderation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a structured and proactive approach.
  • Ability to understand end-to-end business processes and work solution-oriented.
  • Collaborative mindset with a strong service attitude.
