Company Overview & Job Title:

A fantastic Global engineering organization based in Glasgow (Scotland) who specialise in the Semiconductor Industry have an opening in which they’re now recruiting for a brand new Embedded Software Engineer to join the successful team and business. This Embedded Software Engineering role is ideal for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer or a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer who is looking for career progression, is ready and able to demonstrate their motivations to move to the senior postion.

The salary on offer for the successful Embedded Software Engineer is £40,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on skillset and experience. Hybrid working of 3 days onsite and 2 days WFH is available as well as relocation assistance.

The role:

This is an exciting role because the Embedded Software Engineer will join a high quality multi-discipline engineering and to have a great opportunity to work on a broad range of high end technologies, spanning Embedded Software, RTOS, automated software testing and to be responsible for the design, development and test of software for the company’s products and technology.

Embedded Software Engineer Key Skills:

• 3-5+ minimum industry experience
• Embedded C, C++, Python
• Experience of microcontrollers – STM32, ARM Cortex, etc
• Experience with RTOS Systems
• Experience with Embedded Linux
• Network interfaces – SPI, I2C, USB, UART, CANB, Ethernet, ADCs, DACs
• Version Control Systems and integration tools - Git, Jenkins, SVN, GIT etc
• Ability to work independently, in a diversified and multidisciplined team
• Good teamwork and communication skills

Bonus nice to have skills:

• Experience in the full software development lifecycle
• Experience working with multicore chipsets and how they operate, e.g. data interchange between cores
• Awareness of IMX chipset
• Understanding of regression testing and CDCI process
• Test-driven development (TDD) experience
• C# and Visual Studio / Visual Studio Code
• Experience of FPGA’s
• Awareness of cyber resilience act to support documentation provided to customers
