Project Description:
We are developing an OTT platform for one of the largest TV providers in North America. Our engineers are responsible for a diverse range of tasks, such as developing client applications for different platforms, including Android, iOS, SmartTVs, and others, creating backend components for the platform, and building cloud infrastructure to support it. We are seeking a talented DevOps Release and Configuration Manager to join our team. If you are interested in this opportunity, please review the requirements and responsibilities below.
Responsibilities:
DevOps Release and Configuration Manager, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of software releases, as well as managing the configuration management process. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that software releases are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain release management processes and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient software deployments.
• Coordinate release schedules and communicate release plans to stakeholders, including development teams, QA teams, and project managers.
• Manage release activities, including build deployments, environment configuration, and release validation testing.
• Facilitate release readiness reviews and ensure that all release documentation is complete and accurate.
• Monitor release progress and identify and address any issues or risks that may impact release timelines.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate release processes and improve efficiency.
• Manage the configuration management process, including version control, change management, and configuration item identification.
• Maintain configuration management tools and systems and ensure that they are aligned with organizational goals and standards.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in release management and configuration management.
Mandatory Skills Description:
• 3+ years of experience in release management, configuration management, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and release management principles and practices.
• Experience working with operations best practices, and familiarity with ticketing system such as ServiceNow or equivalents.
• Experience with CICD pipeline principles.
• Experience with release management tools and systems, such as Jenkins, Bitbucket (or equivalent), AWS, and cloud services.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools, such as Git.
• Ability to develop, and maintain various build scripts in Ant, Maven, Python and equivalent tools.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
