As our Game Economy Designer, you’ll be responsible for balancing game mechanics, tuning progression systems, and designing economic models that enhance player engagement. Your expertise in data analysis, spreadsheets, and game balancing will be key in shaping a rewarding and sustainable in-game economy.
How you will make an impact:
- Design and balance in-game economies, ensuring a sustainable and engaging player progression system.
- Analyze core game mechanics using data-driven insights to evaluate player progression, engagement, and system performance.
- Optimize economy balancing by adjusting parameters and structures to improve player experience and maintain game health.
- Work extensively with spreadsheets and CSV files to structure, track, and refine game data.
- Collaborate with game analytics teams to evaluate economy performance and make informed adjustments.
- Tune and test game parameters to maintain balance across various gameplay systems.
- Support LiveOps economy adjustments, iterating on content updates, pricing, and resource distribution.
- Provide documentation and reports, showcasing economy structures, balancing decisions, and iteration processes.
- Design and manage time-limited game modes that leverage existing systems by adjusting parameters without requiring developer support.
Your character build:
- 5+ years of experience in game economy design, balancing, or a similar role.
- Expert in spreadsheets and data management, with strong proficiency in Google Sheets, Excel, and CSV file manipulation.
- Proven ability to create reusable tools that streamline processes and can be applied across the company.
- Deep understanding of core balancing and economy balancing, ensuring fairness and engagement.
- Technical game design knowledge, with the ability to adjust and test game parameters.
- Strong mathematical skills and a data-driven mindset.
- Experience working with game analytics, leveraging data to refine economy systems.
- Bonus: Prior experience in LiveOps economy balancing and monetization strategies.
