The Opportunity:


As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll work as part a highly engaged, future-focussed team of professionals who are leading Unison’s data transformation journey. This includes:


  • Leveraging the power of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and cloud integration platforms
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems to support Unison’s data needs
  • Creating data solutions that make a real difference to Unison’s business users
  • Working closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data accessibility, quality, and security


What You’ll Bring:


  • Relevant experience as an Azure Databricks Data Engineer with current, demonstrable experience using DBT in Databricks
  • Experience with change and release management within Databricks and Microsoft Fabric using Azure DevOps
  • Strong demonstrable experience with SQL and Python in Azure Databricks notebooks
  • Experience with data modelling and data visualization techniques and tools (PowerBI)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing techniques with experience designing and building dimensional models
  • Hands-on in your approach, with the ability to contribute at a “senior” level
  • Proven ability to mentor/coach team members on data engineering workflows and tools within the Databricks environment
  • Proven ability to seamlessly integrate into an innovative team culture and develop great customer relationships
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in IT, with a preference for data management and analytics
  • The right to work in New Zealand and the desire to live and build your career in Hawke’s Bay
